The season finale of Marrying Millions was very anti-climatic with all of the couples finding a way to work together with the exception of Desiree and Rodney. If you watch the show, you know this couple makes me itch. I can barely watch scenes with the two of them together because it comes off as so very fake!
Whether Rodney is having a conversation with his assistant, his mother (which I love) or his group of guy friends (that scene was sooooo random) it just doesn't feel like Rodney is genuinely into Desiree. It feels like as soon as the cameras wrap Desiree collects her coins and back to her real life of seeking a high value man and Rodney....well I'm not sure what Rodney is seeking.
In the finale, Rodney's mother suggests that he needs to be honest with himself and that he shouldn't get into any other relationships until he figures out what he really wants. Could this be her way of suggesting that maybe Rodney doesn't want to be with a woman at all? That's what I took from it. I can't be the only one holding a mental "BS" sign up whenever Rodney tries to reassure Desiree that he wants to be with her. It just doesn't feel like a remote possibility that Rodney is interested in what Desiree is selling. (And judging by her skimpy clothes and mail order bride wig - we know she is selling something to a willing demographic)
With this season over and Rodney stomping off to his room after suggesting he may never get married...I think it's safe to say there were some issues the couple didn't want to share with their TV audience. I'd be willing to bet my change purse that Rodney is looking for a total different type of gold digger all together. Maybe he'll find him next season?
